A life remembered
It is with humble acceptance and God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Rose Ogendo Gawo, Wife of the late Anthony Gawo, Daughter of the late Mzee Jacob Seda and Mama Marcella Owidi, Mother of Mary Owele, Lordvick Otieno, Molly Gawo of USA, the late Anne Oginga, Betty Otieno of Chiga Sub-County Hospital, Joseph Gawo of State Department of Basic Education (KPEEL Project) Nairobi, Mercy Gawo of Quantech Consultancy and Gerald Gawo of UK. Aunty of Dan Okal of Oyugis, Ben Okal, Hezron Nyandere Nyagol and Naftali Seda of Chulaimbo Senior Secondary School. Mother in-law of Benson Owele, Lynette Owino, Sospeter Opondo, the late Michael Oginga, Ayub Otieno, Seline Situma and Michael Ondiek of 748 Air Services. Grandmother of Lorraine, Victor, Fidel, Jeff, Bill, Val, Emmanuel, Aryan, Achzel and the late Beryl, Irene and Marlene.
Words of remembrance
Rose Angeline Ogendo was born on a special day, 25th December, 1939 as last-born child to Mama Marcella Owidi and Mzee Jacob Seda of Kadidi Sub-Clan, Kasule Clan in Kolwa Central location. Rose was the last born with Grace Osome as first born, Nicodemus Nyagol, then Joyce Odeyo among other siblings.
Through the influence of the Catholic Missionaries in Kisumu, her parents who were staunch believers in the Catholic faith enrolled her at the Kibuye Primary School after which she was transferred to Asumbi. She later joined Asumbi Teachers’ Training College where she graduated as a primary school teacher.
